The fourth trilateral technical dialogue between Ethiopia, Egypt and Sudan on the filling and operation of the Great Ethiopian Renaissance Dam (GERD) begins today (November 5 2019) in Addis Ababa.
The meeting sets out to consult on outstanding issues over the filling and operation of the dam.
The meeting takes into account the results acquired from previously held Ministerial consultative meetings.
Lessons will also be drawn from the 5 rounds of meetings undertaken by an Independent Scientific Research Group concerning the filling and releasing of water from GERD.
The 4th Trilateral Meeting will also consider the recent Washington discussion on Dam and the Sochi, Russia consensus between Ethiopian Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed and Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi.
USA and the World Bank are attending the meeting as observers.
