MOGADISHU, Somalia (Horndiplomat) Amnesty international praised the arrest of Wanted Somali State minister Abdirashid Janan who was arrested in Mogadishu by Somali police alongside with International police.
He was arrested for serious crimes he committed in Gedo region according Somali police deputy commissioner.
“The arrest of Abdirashid Janan is a significant step towards accountability for the serious human rights violations committed with impunity for years by powerful individuals in Somalia.” Amnesty international said on Monday.
The human right Group (amnesty international calls that the investigation of the wanted Jubaland security minister Abdirashid Janan must usher in an era of Justice.
“The investigation and trial of Abdirashid Janan must usher in an era of justice for victims of human rights violations and their families in Somalia.” The rights group added in a statement posted on Its online page on Monday.
Meanwhile, bomb blast in Mogadishu killed one person and wounded several others in Mogadishu’s Yaqshid Neighborhood this evening.
Deputy governor of Banadir regional administration confirmed the casualties toll.
It is the second attack in 12 hours in Somali capital Mogadishu.
