The Second Ethio-Japan Business and Exhibition Forum aiming at promoting trade and investment opportunities to Ethiopia was held on 30 August 2019 on the sidelines of the TICAD 7 Conference in Yokohama.
On the occasion, remarks were delivered by Mr. Gedu Andargachew, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia, Ambassador Kassa Tekleberhan, Ambassador of Ethiopia to Japan, President of Japan External Trade Organization (JETRO) and Japanese Ambassador to Ethiopia.
Minister Gedu expressed the readiness of the Ethiopian Government to welcome Japanese investors more than ever before, and requested the investors to take advantage of this opportunity.
Ambassador Kassa Tekleberhan thanked Japanese companies and institutions for assisting the Ethiopian Embassy in sending Japanese investors to Ethiopia. Moreover, he assured that the Embassy would provide necessary support for the investors to take advantage of the golden trade and investment opportunities in Ethiopia.
Ambassador of Japan to Ethiopia also witnessed his observation to participants regarding the conducive investment condition in Ethiopia.
The President of JETRO said that he knew improved trade and investment opportunities in Ethiopia, and regularly briefed members of his organization about these improvements.
180 Japanese investors and 43 members of the Ethiopian Business Community attended the forum.
Tokyo International Conference on Africa Development (TICAD) was launched by the Government of Japan to promote Africa’s development, and to maintain peace and security through strengthening relations in multilateral cooperation and partnership.
