Somalia’s Puntland Court Sentences Three Men to Death for the Rape and Murder of 12-Years Old Girl

Horndiplomat A judge in the town of Garowe, Puntland, sentences Three men to death for the rape and murder of 12-year-old girl.

The court acquitted 7 youths charged with the involvement of the rape and subsequent killing of the girl.

The names of those who have been sentenced to death are as follows:-

1. Mr. Abdifatah Abdirahman Warsame and aged 24.

2. Mr. Abdisalan Abdirahman Warsame and aged 32.

3. Mr. Abdishakur Mohamed Dige aged 46.

Aisha Ilyas Aden disappeared on Feb 24 this year. Her body was found the following day, strangled and sexually assaulted.

The rape and murder of the 12-year-old has left many Somalis enraged on social media as thousands have expressed anger while demanding justice and a probe to arrest all perpetrators.
