The President of the Federal Republic of Somalia, Mohamed Abdullahi “Farmajo” arrived in Addis Ababa this morning (March 5) for an official visit to Ethiopia.
Upon arrival at Bole International Airport, the President was warmly welcomed by Ethiopian Prime Minister . Dr. Abiy Ahmed and other high-level government officials, including Minister of Foreign Affairs, Dr. Workneh Gebeyehu.
The visit has come as part of Prime Minister Dr. Abiy Ahmed’s initiative for regional peace and security and economic integration in the Horn of Africa region.
Meanwhile, The Ethiopian Prime Minister Dr. Abiy Ahmed held bilateral discussions with the President of the Federal Republic of Somalia, Mohamed Abdullahi Mohamed at his office today Afternoon (March 5).
Also in attendance were high-level Ethiopian government officials, including Minister of Foreign Affairs, Dr. Workneh Gebeyehu.
According to the Office of the Prime Minister-Ethiopia , the discussions focused on four key issues including the strengthening of regional peace per the agreements signed previously; mechanisms to ensure Kenya-Somali relations are strengthened; continuation of joint port development; and ensuring that relations with the administration of Somaliland support regional peace.
