Ethiopian Airlines (Ethiopian) inaugurated a new route to Moscow, Russia (December 17).
Ambassadors and diplomatic bodies from different embassies, as well as Group CEO of Ethiopian, Mr.Tewolde Gebremariam, along with management members graced the event held at Ethiopian Airlines.
Commenting on the move the Ethiopian Group CEO Mr. Tewolde GebreMariam said, “It gives me a great pleasure to announce that we launched services to Moscow, Russia, the world’s largest country in total area, spanning Eastern Europe and northern Asia. As one of the world’s leading producers of oil and natural gas, Russia offers ample trade and investment potentials for investors.
“It will help to boost better trade, investment and tourism relations between the two regions”, he added.
Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Woinshet Tadesse while witnessing the inauguration event stated the launch of flights to Moscow will enhance Ethio-Russia relations.
Ethiopia and Russia established diplomatic relations on April 21, 1943.
