Horndiplomat-The Ethiopian Ministry of Foreign Affairs will repatriate 2400 Ethiopian nationals from Saudi Arabia this week. Following series of successful negotiations with the Government of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, the 2400 Ethiopian nationals will be released from jails for reasons of clemency.
Accordingly, 450 Ethiopian nationals who were in jail in Jizan prisons for having involved in illegal activities will arrive in Addis Ababa later today (December 10), and the remaining 450 of them will arrive home on Friday (December 14).
In addition, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs through its Consulate General in Jeddah is working to repatriate 1500 Ethiopian nationals who had gone through risky migrant route to Saudi Arabia last week. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs, with the view to ensuring the safety and wellbeing of its citizens, has redoubled its efforts to reach out to its nationals who had been imprisoned in Jeddah.According to Ethiopian Ministry of Foreign Affairs
