On December 6,Congresswomen Karen Bass receives Somaliland delegation led by Foreign Minister  Yasin Hagi Mahmoud Hir Accompanied by President’s Economic Adviser Dr. Osman Sheikh Ahmed .

Karen Basswill become the Chairperson of House Foreign Affairs Sub-Committee on Africa.
Minister Yasin briefed her on the latest developments in Somaliland and the Horn of Africa.

Karen RuthBass is an American politician serving as the U.S. Representative forCalifornia’s 37th congressional district since 2013 and also A member of the Democratic Party, she previously represented the 33rd congressional district from 2011 to 2013.

On the other hand, The Somaliland Minister of Foreign Affairs and International CooperationYasin Hagi Mohamud Hir along with Dr. Osman Sheikh Ahmed Economic Adviser ofthe President met with Senator Johnny Isakson from Georgia in Washington DC anddiscussed a number of issues.

John HardyIsakson is an American politician serving as the senior United States Senatorfrom Georgia, in office since 2005, and a member of the Republican Party.Previously, he represented Georgia’s 6th Congressional district in the UnitedStates House of Representatives from 1999 to 2005.

Bashir Sh. Omer Goud ,Somaliland Representative to USA and Yasin Mohamed Mire were also in attendance.

The Somaliland Minister for Foreign Affairs Yasin Mohamud Hiir and his delegation arrived in Washington on thursday.
