Horndiplomat-Somaliland president Muse Bihi Abdi receives in his office a high-level delegation from Britain led by UK State Minister for Africa and Commonwealth Harriett Baldwin.-Horndiplomat Reports
After The Meeting Somaliland Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation Dr. Saad Ali Shire who briefed the press said that a wide range of issues were discussed including; development, security in the region, talks with Somalia, forthcoming elections, enhancement of the cooperation between the two nations and to strengthen historical and cultural ties between the peoples of both nations.
UK State Minister to Africa Harriett Baldwin announced a new package of 25 million pounds to support Somaliland Development Fund (SDF) in the delivery of basic services.
Harriett Baldwin thanked for the warm welcome, hailed Somaliland’s peace and remarkable achievements and pledged to step up British support.
“I’m delighted to announce today the start of the second phase of Somaliland Development Fund and we’re adding further 25 million Pound.”Said, minister Baldwin
The UK delegation also inspected the ongoing Hargeisa Water Supply Expansion which is going on smoothly.
Meanwhile, The president of Somaliland Muse Bihi Abdi welcomed the delegation and indicates UK’s long-standing support to Somaliland.
“Delighted to welcome & had a fruitful meeting with the UK State Minister for Africa and Commonwealth, Harriett Baldwin. We highly appreciate the UK’s long-standing support to the Republic of Somaliland. UK is a great and historic partner for Somaliland.”Said President Muse Bihi Abdi
During the meeting, the president was accompanied by the vice president H.E Abdirahman Abdilahi Saylici, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation Dr. Saad Ali Shire and Somaliland representative to UK Ambassador ayan Ashour.
