During the meeting, A wide range of issues were discussed including; historic ties between the two Countries, The Geopolitical, regional security, resuming Somaliland-Somalia talks, holding the upcoming elections for their fixed date and the Berbera corridor.

The British Ambassador accompanied by Rosie Tapper Head of the British Office in Hargeisa.

The President of Somaliland Muse Bihi Abdi has commented on his Twitter the meeting with British Ambassador

“I have received a delegation headed by the UK Ambassador David Concar. We discussed the historic ties between the two nations, the geopolitical & regional security, resuming Somaliland – Somalia talks, and holding the upcoming elections for their fixed date.”Said President Bihi

On the Other hand, The British Ambassador David Concar participate in the opening of the 11th Hargeisa International  Book Fair, Ambassador Concar post on his Twitter applauds the organisers of Hargeisa International Bookfair.

The British Ambassador to Somalia David Concar also attends the opening ceremony of newly upgraded Supreme Court Building dates from the 1950s.

“Delighted to join President Muse biihi and Somaliland’s Chief Justice today to open Hargeisa’s newly upgraded Supreme Court. Building dates from the 1950s. UK has funded the upgrade as part of a wider programme of UK support for Somaliland’s judiciary and the justice system.”Amb David Says

Ambassador Concar also visited the University of Hargeisa and opened a fully equipped media training studio for journalism students funded by the UK.

Somaliland declared its independence nearly three decades ago from Somalia, but despite having its own currency, parliament, military and legal system The territory has been experiencing stability and economic prosperity and has been influential in the fight against piracy and terrorism in the Horn of Africa.
