Horndiplomat-King Osman Aw Mohamoud aka (Burmadow) who was sentenced to five years in prison, has been released today on a presidential pardon.
On 26th April 2018, Hargeisa regional court has sentenced Boqor Osman aw Muhumed Mohamed to five years in prison. A judge at Hargeisa Regional Court heard a criminal case against Boqor Osman without the presence of his lawyer. The judge, Ahmed Dalmar Ismail, pronounced the judgment on the same day.
On April 20, The Somaliland police forces apprehended the outspoken traditional leader as King Osman Aw Mohamud aka (Boqor Buurmadow), the Somaliland police spokesman Feisal Heis said the elder’s arrest came following a court warrant accusing him of Crimes against the State. but one day’s latter King Osman released on Bail.
Somaliland Director of Human Rights Center Mr.Guleid Ahmed Jama Condemned the court sentences to King Osman without defence.
“I am startled by the news that traditional leader Boqor Osman aw Muhumed is sentenced to 5 years in prison by a court in Hargeisa without a defence. Everything happened within a day without a defence. A sad day. He is held for statements he made.”Said Gulleid Ahmed Jama Somaliland Human right centre.
On April 15, King Osman Burmadow attended the crowning of Beeldaaje Mohamed in Carmo, a small town in Somalia’s northeastern Puntland region.
