Horndiplomat-The Somaliland Government has refuted the United Nations recent call that said More than 150 thousands of people have been displaced, following recent fighting between Somaliland and Puntland forces.

The United Nations Deputy Special Representative & Humanitarian Coordinator for Somalia Peter de Clercq told HCTV  says

“Recent fighting between Somaliland and Puntland in Tukaraq districts, too many people have died and also 150 thousands of people have been displaced. Said Peter de Clercq told HCTV

The United Nations Deputy Special Representative & Humanitarian Coordinator for Somalia Peter de Clercq visits Somaliland last week to assess the emergency situation after Cyclone Sagar.

On the other hand, The chairman of Somaliland Refugees and displaced agency Abdikarim Ahmed Mohamed has refuted that United Nations call of displaced people in Tukaraq district.

“That number of people(150,000) not displaced of that region of Sool …that report It looks like a political speech.”Said chairman of Somaliland Refugee and the displaced agency

Somaliland declared its independence nearly three decades ago from Somalia, but despite having its own currency, parliament, military and legal system The territory has been experiencing stability and economic prosperity and has been influential in the fight against piracy and terrorism in the Horn of Africa.
